My painting is a copy of Portrait of a Lady in Yellow, painted by Alesso Baldovinetti in Florence about 1465 AD. The original is now kept in the National Gallery, London. The lady is possibly Francesca delgi Stati of Urbino. The focus is on the fine headdress and adorned sleeve, which were the height of fashion at that time and place. The three palm leaves probably refer to the lady’s family heraldry.
My version is painted in acrylic on a gessoed board.
This is the original painting in the National Gallery, London.
